While I was in the US last year one week as the USGP approached a promo
supplement to introduce F1 to the mass US audience came with my
newspaper. It described the difference between standard US oval racing
and F1 as being that F1 was "road racing" and tried to emulate normal
driving conditions "and therefore has right as well as left turns".

A street circuit like Monaco. Would probably be very hard to make, and
framerate would be bad (unless they solved that problem now).

Very interesting book to read! I got it from the library years ago. It's
a shame that they didn't have it anymore.

What happened to him?

IMO it wasn't a drivers error but a mechanical failure on his Tyrrell.

BTW: Do you got any F1-Videos from the old days (70ties, 80ties -
recorded from ORF perhaps)?
