Dr Jonathan Palmer repeatedly stated that there were 4 divisions in F1
in 1995. Blundell drove in one of the lesser ones. I believe he is
good enough to have been able to have performed better if he was in a
Williams or Benetton. Even Herbert won two races. Being good does
not guarantee a drive ... $ does. Ask Inoue.
My original point was directed to my opinion that F1 had become a
procession instead of the closely fought competition it used to be in
say 1991 or 1980/81. The big names are gone: Jones, Piquet, Senna,
Mansell, Laffite, Villeneuve, Lauda et al. It was the sixth race in
1995 before we actually saw a pass for position on the track instead
of in the pits.
IndyCar may not have the money or glamorous tracks of F1 but the
formula, and even the yellow flags, keeps the racing close and any of
15 drivers could have won in 1995. 9 different winners. Instead of
the Schumacher/Hill show.
