When you say Muppet are you saying you hold an opinion that is
different from mine?

Dr Jonathan Palmer repeatedly stated that there were 4 divisions in F1
in 1995.   Blundell drove in one of the lesser ones.   I believe he is
good enough to have been able to have performed better if he was in a
Williams or Benetton.   Even Herbert won two races.   Being good does
not guarantee a drive ... $ does.   Ask Inoue.

My original point was directed to my opinion that F1 had become a
procession instead of the closely fought competition it used to be in
say 1991 or 1980/81.   The big names are gone: Jones, Piquet, Senna,
Mansell, Laffite, Villeneuve, Lauda et al.   It was the sixth race in
1995 before we actually saw a pass for position on the track instead
of in the pits.

IndyCar may not have the money or glamorous tracks of F1 but the
formula, and even the yellow flags, keeps the racing close and any of
15 drivers could have won in 1995.   9 different winners.   Instead of
the Schumacher/Hill show.

Thanks for listening.

Not even slightly true - at Argentina Schumacher was passed by both
Coulthard and Hill for position. (race 2)
But I suppose the fact that I'm having to point this out does at
least show that there wasn't a lot of passing going on.

But when there was, it was GOOD. (Spa, Nurnburgring)

Hmmmm, as far as I remember, Schumacher didn't pay much money to Ferrari
to employ him, wasn't it the other way around? If a driver is GOOD, he
will get a drive. If he is RICH, he will get a drive. If he is a
midfield runner, nothing is guaranteed.

I suppose you must mean except for both Hill and Coulthard passing
Schumacher in Argentina which was only the SECOND race. In addition
there was a LOT of racing going on further down the field with LOTS of
people passing each other.

Cheers!
John

the track instead of in the pits.

Actually it was the second race, (Hill passing Schmacher, then Couthard passing
Schumacher!)

Anyway, isn't this the wrong newsgroup for this kind of thing!!
