While the behavior of the computer controlled cars is valid, I hardly think
that the grip OFF the track should concern anyone. Why are you not
on the track ?

:-)

Spinouts are very common off track as the gravel is very loose.

% Hey Eric,     Can you tell us how the retail version of CART PR will
% differ from the trial version with respect to the amount of grip off the
% track and the behaviour of the computer controlled cars?  Running wide
% into the dirt at Laguna seems to make little difference to how quickly a
% corner can be negotiated. I would have expected (and preferred if true)
% that I would go 'straight on' in this situation due to lack of grip.
% Then there are the computer controlled cars who seem too eager to give me
% a tap if I brake too early or hold them up through a turn. This knocks me
% off the track almost every time, but if I do the same to them they have a
% bit of a twitch then resume as normal. Do they just have better car
% control? I'll still be buying the game though (but then I do have a 3Dfx
% card).

I can't say for sure, but I think both of these effects in CPR are
known as the Zanardi realism factor. ;-)  After all, they do say it's a
simulation.

Hehe good one Michael, maybe these CPR effects are especially evident at
Laguna Seca and Vancouver :-)

Hey there's another idea, if I'm driving "as" Alex Zanardi in the full
version of CPR instead of Blundel as in the Demo, then I will finally be
able to stop feeling guilty at my overagressive driving style, my normal
accidents of punting other cars off the track will just be part of playing
as Zanardi :-)

Note: Zanardi fans no flames please, Zanardi is actually my favorite CART
driver (along with Blundel), one of the qualities I like about him is that
he is aggressive, if at times maybe a bit too much.

Cheers.
