I'm using the newsreader in AOL.  I can download all the messages, respond
offline, then upload.

Try slrn. I think there even is a windows version. Best
newsreader on the planet (followed closely by trn).

Cheers,

Uwe

If Unix-variants (Linux, etc.) ever want to make it into the mainstream
world in a big way, they should employ a marketing team to rename some of
their utilities and/or applications. You wanna sell a newsreader to Joe
Everybody? Don't name it "slrn" or "trn" ;)

And don't get me started on grep...

There's no need to sell it in this particular case because it's
free ;-)

Anyway, you get the graphical varieties of "Knode" and "Pan"
and whatnot, those are "reasonably" named.

BTW, I'm looking forward to dicing it out with Uncle Goy at
Bristol and the Glen tomorrow. He's driving the FreeBSD car,
I'm the one in the blue fat Tux. Should be fun! Have you
noticed nobody ever puts MS logos on their cars? They might
crash! ;-)

Cheers,

uwe

I wouldn't be caught dead in the FreeBSD car, John's artwork looks like
***as usual, I think you've got your uncles mixed up.....:-), I'll be
in the Castrol Chevy though, with a little luck

Wrong uncle.  The good-looking one drives the FreeBSD car. ;-)  Hope to
be home in time to make the race, but don't know for sure.

Bite me, Goy.  John's artwork is top notch.  :-)
