First off, rocket-like acceleration is not caused by power editor use but by
a phenomenon that goes by the name of "lag" and the game's way to deal with
that. :-) You will experience that with or without power edited cars.
The word "cheat" next to a driver's name indicates that your opponents'
power setting varies from the one you use. Since you have not altered your
power settings yet, this means that your opponent did in fact use the power
editor to optimize his car's power curve.
However, "cheat" next to a driver's name does not necessarily mean that this
driver has altered his engine power because it could also be the other way
around. It is dependant on what the host uses. Did the host of an online
game adjust power with Rene's editor once and sets up a game, and a driver
with original power settings joins his game, that makes this client the
"cheat" all of a sudden. So, you have to understand that the game just
compares the power curves. If they are not identical for all the cars, this
results in "cheat" display.
This power editor can be set to a highest value of 1000. This value will
give you Team5 power (most optimal power curve of all) for every other car
you select.
On a more personal note, sometimes you will come across drivers throwing in
condescending sentences if people use the power editor. However, the editor
is the basis of numerous MGPRS2 leagues and thus cannot be considered
cheating as such. At least not generally speaking as it is obviously
accepted by the majority.
