FOCA are still arguing about it in the courts. You'll get the decision soon.

Well, obviously this is the 60s, where drivers were sporting, and you're
disqualified. However the problem with not getting the championship
standings I guess is because the season is not finished :-) You have
probably installed some new tracks, and if you have GPL still thinks you
have to do those races as well before the season is over, so obviously
GPL won't declare a winner yet.

If you don't want the new tracks to be part of the season you have to
remove them from the gp.ini file in the seasons folder. If you leave the
67season file alone you should still be able to race those tracks in
single races, but they won't be part of the championship.

That's probably it, I deleted the extra tracks after I did Mexico,
probably too late.

Start a new season.

You'll find your superlicense has been withheld, you've been fined
$100,000 and your last year's championship taken away.

I changed the number of races to 11, so it didn't keep going.  That means the
season is over, right?  So, where's the end of the season message?

I never got a message either after my season finished.  I just thought it was
because I didn't win the championship - I was in 6th place.

Why's that? I searched the rulebook of GPL, but it doesn't say
anything about my actions being illegal! And it was not that bad, Hill
survived after all. Hmm, have to hit him harder next time...

GPL Championship bummer

by Rand » Sat, 03 Jun 2000 04:00:00

Wait a minute here, I just finished a pro long championship series
four days ago.  I was a Mexico with 9 points over JC, lead the race
from the half way point till the 19th lap when my leg cramped up bad
and I lost it just prior to the esses, spun and ended up in fourth.
Anyway, when it was over I got a newspaper with the headline
"Anderson: 1967 World Champion"  and the text read "Randy Anderson won
the Championship for Drivers, after yesterdays Grand Prix at Mexico,
overshadowing a great performance by race winnner Jim Clark."
The one thing I may have done different is that when I would drive the
series races I would put the original gp.ini and 67season.ini with the
11 tracks listed in the seasons folder and rename the files with all
the othertracks.

There is no end of season message, just that the newspaper after the
last race has the winner of the championship in the headline. Actually
the headline will appear after the championship has been decided, so not
necessarily after the just the last race.

A couple of examples of how the newspaper looks:

By the same token, you should be able to edit the gp.ini file to contain 1
track for a 1 track championship and see the ending you missed. :-)

It's not illegal. It's called the Schumacher Shuffle, it's done in F1
all the time.
