How do U save a controller setup in N4?

by TheForc » Tue, 27 Feb 2001 02:50:11

Everytime I start N4 I have to recalibrate my wheel (Logitech Formula Force
USB) and reset my button assignments. Is there a way to save the settings so
that they are there when I start the game? Didn't have this problem with N3.

I had this problem but it was mostlly due to forgetting to turn the darned
wheel on before launching the game.  Once the game asks you to calibrate it
won't let you out of that session till all functions are "assigned"

I do like the fact that you can set up multiple players each with their own
settings...this way I can run with shifting enabled and set up my 5 yr old
grandson with automatic shifting and some of the other "cheat" settings
enabled.

something isn't right...do you turn off your wheel between uses?  Do you
not calibrate in windows?   It should behave very much like N3.  I'm
thinking your wheel is giving spikes or something that convince N4 into
pre-supposing you have changed the wheel.

It's possible that your calibration file has become corrupted and is now
unable to be saved properly.  You might try deleting the offending
controls.cfg file from your nascar4\players\player_name folder and see if it
helps.

I have the same problem, but not every time I start the game.

I have that problem with my Force RS when I start the game and forget to plug
the wheel in. Don't know if this helpds in your case but it is worth a try.
