Just wondering if someone can give me a quick rundown as to which games work
and which games don't work under Windows 2000 Pro.  Im thinking about making
the switch, but am hesitant.  I'll probably run a dual partition for a while
just to make sure everything is alright.

Thanks in advance.

Most games I've tried out do work in Win2k. most run fine staright away but
a few need little hacks to get em up and running (goto ntcompatable). I've
even managed to get a few old dos games running with sound! In fact I
managed to get monkey Island working with Win2k far more easily than in
Windows 98 or ME. You do get the odd strange problem such as you don't get
all the FF effects in NFS Porsche 2000.

Racing game wise I can run :-

GPL
TOCA2
Colin McRae Rally
GP3
F1 2000
Viper Racing
Rally Chamionship
NFS Porsche 2000

As long as you have all the Win2K drivers for you system you should be fine.

Note that Microsoft Sidewinder devices are unlikely to work under Win2K.
My FF wheel jerks to the left all the time, has no other Force Feedback,
and the software to edit profiles and activate them doesn't work at all,
so I can't program any of the buttons. The MS tech support site says the
FF wheels won't work and there are no plans to make them work under
Win2K.

Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it? MS touts Win2K, but won't write
drivers for its own hardware to run under the OS.

Since WinME is the last version of Windows to use the Win9x kernel and
all future versions will be NT based (W2K), does that mean my MS Wheel
won't work for the next version of Windows?  If that is the case, MS
is really looking for trouble.  Say it ain't so Bill.
