Is there a utility that will allow you to get at and modify the .VEH files
associated with the cars that come with SCGT. I want to modify the cars to
make them behave more to my liking , so that they are harder to drive like
the cars that I have downloaded and modified. The stock cars just turn too
well, and I was wondering if the A.I. drivers would have to contend with my
modifed car handling physics when they drive cars that I modify.

There are three programs to edit VEHs. One is V-Edit, which is realtively
easy.

Another is GTVE, which is a bit more difficult but not too much.

The third is good ol' Notepad, which is for those that understand what each
value means.

there is a utility for scgt called 'advanced options editor'
or aoe.  It sims up the driving model somewhat.  And allows you to unsticky
the sticky grass.

But be careful using AOE on the newer cars, as they don't need it and  using
it could make them seriuosly undrivable!

I would not use AOE. I'd rather make the adjustments in the VEH that
possibly affect all of them. I'd stay away from it unless you're not using
many add-on cars.

But can't you use the AOE on the base version of the game, and then
add cars after that?  The AOE is vital, IMO, to correct the grass
friction levels.

The VEH files for the original SCGT cars are packed into the "VEHICLE.MAS"
file which is in the DAT directory. You should use MASpuce to unpack the
file and then you can edit the VEH files as you wish.

Our racing series is about to go to non-AOEd files, and I feel no real
difference from slick grass in AOE and these new non-AOEd files. It's not
impossible to get out of the grass with the non-AOEs.
