With the .dat extractor and .mip-to-.bmp converter, you can use
your favorite paint program to make cars in GPL. gpl.gamestats.com
has some nice paintjobs available -- correct paint jobs for the
Honda and the Coopers (including Siffert's blue one), as well as
applications to add drivers who did more competing in 1967 but
who simply weren't licensed for the sim (e.g., Jackie Stewart),
as well as change references to Coventry and Murasama to real-life
cars Cooper and Honda. The result of all the addons is one more
BRM and one less Eagle, but that just means more drivers I might
be competitive with soon! I'm still hoping there'll be a Chris
Amon paint job available soon; apparently his independent BRM
had a different paint job than the others.
I have my own paint jobs for the Cooper and Honda. The Cooper
is nothing special, but I spent quite a bit of time on the Honda.
I took an existing Honda paint scheme for the #7 car and changed
the numbers to 4, removed the red sun from the top of the cowling
(carefully, to keep all the rivets and ducts in the paint scheme
in white/gray), and instead made a bigger red sun on the nose
(again, making sure to keep the rivets and seams intact, just in
shades of red instead of shades of gray), and put the numeral 4
inside it in white. It's quite nice, if perhaps just the tiniest
bit too modern of a design idea.
