Just got N2... my 2 cents...

Just started playing N2 the other day, I've had N1 for awhile.
I don't play online, just me and my T2.  N1 is a classic, maybe N2 just
has... oh what do they call it in the record industry, softmore jinx (or is
that freshman...) anyway, N2 is nice, and has some nice additions, but it's
NOT worth paying the FULL PRICE for a SIMPLE upgrade.  IMO, the upgrade is
worth ... $25 tops TOPS.

I'm running a cyrix 586 120 with 20 megs ram and a Stealth2001 PCI 1meg.
I have to still play with the graphics settings more, the frame rates are
not good, geese, now do I have to go out and get a 3D rendition board???

FOR SALE:

NASCAR1 with TRACKPACK... many customized extras.....  oh yea,
(1)  Diamond Stealth 2001 PCI video board....  slightly used....

Please guys...when you sweep up all those interesting pieces left on the
"cutting room floor",   make them available FREE for those of us who
honestly paid too much for N2!

Oh yea, how can I use the paint jobs for N1 for N2???

As always, patches to existing products will be made available (for
free) on a variety of on-line venues. New products, as always, will be
sold. (That's where the money comes from to develop them.) When you
bought N1, that's exactly what you bought, NASCAR 1; you didn't buy a
lifetime subscription to all Papyrus NASCAR products... When we
created bug fix patches for N1, you were able to get them without
paying anything to Papyrus. But when we created NASCAR 2, you had to
buy it...

You cannot. The car template for N2 is improved, allowing more
portions of the car to be painted, as well as better allocating the
limited amount of texture memory to portions of the car which are more
"important"...

Actually you can in a round about way.  Export your pcx from N1 (hope
you know how to do this) and either export a car from N2 or get
templates from The Pits and load both into Paint Shop Pro (or your fav
paint prog) and paint the background colors, stipes and so on, then just
cut and paiste your decals from N1 to the N2 car.  If you need help
painting cars in N2 (the palette colors are different and you need to
cut and paiste to another exported N2 car) goto
http://www.sequoia-dev.com/Hawaii/Features/paintcars.html for help and
get the pallete fix from http://users.aol.com/Screechie1/util.htm (hurry
he changed his address).
This is the ONLY way to do it.  Like Jim said, you can't just use the
exported N1 .pcx and import it to N2.  Nothing is easy in life.
