Pat,

That is a constantly recurring topic on this NG.  There seems to be a
lot of interest as far as I can tell, but so far, no company has
committed to making one.  Can't you just imagine a drag racing sim
that is the quality of N2 or GP2?  I would LOVE it.  We can only keep
our fingers crossed and keep begging...

It was about time someone brought this up again. :)

There are not any plans that I know of for any company putting out a drag
racing sim. IMHO, they are missing out on a lot of money and a niche in the
racing sim marketplace...but if the companies want to waste their time
and money putting out sims of 30 year old grand prix racing or an off-road
sim, that's their problem. Neither of these will sell as well as a drag racing
sim would, I think. Until this year when NASCAR and IRL (and next year CART)
moved into Texas, drag racing had far better coverage of the country. Even
now, NHRA has four nationals in Texas as opposed to one WC and one IRL race.

What really puzzles me is how GP2 sold like it did in the US, seeing as they
don't even race here. IMO, F1 is probably the most boring major form of racing
in the world. I saw that Shumacher (I think) spun out this weekend while
leading and still won by over 50 seconds....wow, now that's some exciting
racing.

And you want a dragracing sim......? Talking about boring!!

I saw that Shumacher (I think) spun out this weekend while

Yes it was! To see someone who is able to go 4 seconds a lap faster than
the rest of the field, not because of the car, but because of his excellent
driving ability in the rain with virtually no grip, that makes me watch
the T.V.
with great admiration for this guy.

BTW, Going 200+ km/h in the rain with no grip at 2 inches off the wall
