What would be the best track and car to start learning with?  Got a month
off of work so I will try this game again.TIA

Easiest car is the cooper (aka coventry). Easiest track is probably
Monza or Watkins Glen.

I would go for the Glen. Short enough to learn the racing line quickly and
just one difficult corner.

Good luck,

I'd take the Cooper (Coventry) into Kyalami. Besides not being overtly
hard and long, it's the most modern track in the game, which lowers the
learning curve for people who are familiar with modern F1 sims. Monza's
OK too, perhaps even a tad too simple. The Glen is IMO hideously difficult
for newbies. The two braking zones are some of the hairiest in the whole
game, and the oddball crowning causes extra trouble for newbies.

I agree with your assessment on the Glen.  Although I'm no record-holder, I'm no
newbie either, and I never really could get the Glen mastered for the reasons
you state.

Sorry Guys, but two assessments that the Watkins Glen is easy!!!

The huge crown into the braking zone for the right hander before the back
straight is a nightmare, and the braking zone into the back S is pretty
hairy if you want a decent time.

Or maybe It's just me?

See ya all

silverstone is a nice learning track.
And I find the eagle a very easy car to drive.
Mainly because of its long wheelbase.
