Also I believe there is heavy firewalling which might restrict what you can

Probably (hopefully) changed for the eventual commercial service but
pretty hopeless otherwise.

bear in mind, that upstream traffic on the BT ADSL trial is what, 70 kbps, not
the 1 mbps downstream.

Me too - 'twould be nice to have a really fast UK host. Maybe we could
even get a league going.

Wrong numbers. 256 kbps upstream, 2 mbps downstream. The worst recorded upstream so far
in the trial in 238 kbps. Should be okay for a full grid with a bit of GPL file
tweaking.

Good news from the BT Interactive helpdesk. Very helpful people up there north of
Inverness (your neck of the woods, is it, John?, or relative to them perhaps you
are a softie Southerner) reckoned I will be able to host GPL races on VROC.

I planned to run a British GPL series when I get my cable modem but the
sooner the better! If Paul can host GPL races it would be great.
