playstation nascar setups

by jlov » Wed, 11 Mar 1998 04:00:00

I am having a real trouble setting up a car for simulated
racing.  I get speed in the staight a ways, but they simply will not turn.
It has really been frustating. I would really appreciate any help someone
could give me. This is for nascar racing on the playstation platform.

If you're speaking of NASCAR Racing by Papyrus, the same advice on
various web-sites about Nascar 1 (and to an extent, Nascar 2)
applies. I strongly recommend an analog steering controller (I
personally like the Namco Negcon, but any steering wheel will help
[avoid the Per4mer wheel as you'd avoid someone with leprosy])

A quick web search, or reading other posts for Nascar in this group
will give you pointers to some excellent advice web-sites out there.

Until you land on that advice, just load the "ACE" setups, and ignore
the settings. Concentrate on driving, remembering to slow down perhaps
more that you think you should have to at first. The intial magic
isn't to be found in the garage, it's to be found on the
track. There's no magic bullet until you learn to drive the car near
its limit. Then you worry about tweaking the setup.

If you're speaking of NASCAR '98 by EA, I have no idea, but I'm sure
others do. (But, since you indicate that the game is challenging
enough to ask for advice, I suspect you got the real deal. :-) )
