NASCAR -> ICR2

I know this had been discussed before but...

what is involved in making Nascar tracks work with ICR2? I would like to do
this  with the Mac versions if this makes any difference.

Thanks for any help,

Donavon

You can easily convert the tracks from ICR2 to NASCAR using the DOS-tools
available (e.g. at http://www.theuspits.com) ... if you are using the
(WIN)DOS voersion of these games.

But it is not so easy for the Mac version! They added some nicer track
splash screens (both to ICR2 and NASCAR). If they are not present, strange
things happen (in most cases the Mac crashes hard).

I'm in the process of converting all tracks. It involves some hacking,
including unpacking of the *.dat-files (DOS-tools are available to do
that), moving and colour-converting the pcx-files hidden in these
dat-files around and packing it afterwards. So far, I have converted
Darlington to ICR2 and there is only a minor cosmetic bug (colours in the
setup-screen are wrong). Racing is great.

Unfortunately, I can't "give" you the track as this would be pirating.
Giving you instructions on how to do this would be long and complicated.
BTW, since all the conversion tools run under DOS, you need a DOS
emulator, of course.
