NASCAR tracks -> ICR2?

by Brian Wong - Systems Engineering - SMCC Serve » Mon, 04 Dec 1995 04:00:00

Ok, I just had to try it :-)  I copied the track directories from NASCAR
to ICR2 (Talledega, Watkins Glen, and Sears Point).  I guess the pit grid
positions must be different in ICR and NASCAR since you always start from
somewhere offtrack... At Watkins Glen my crew hangs out in Turn 1!  Probably
we could go edit the .TXT file to fix this, although I don't knwo what the
various numbers means...

I did a few laps at Talledega and found that I couldn't go much faster
there in an IndyCar than in a NASCAR.  I sort of remember that this is a
limitation of the fudging?

Make sure you copy IndyCarII car setups from the other tracks.  Copy the
Michigan ACE setup to the Talladega track directory and you'll be able
to go 232-235MPH.  Not much faster though.

The reason you can't go as fast at these tracks is because the track-files
contain the setup info, so it is setting up your indycar like a nascar,
which isn't very cool.  Fiddle with the setup and it will speed up.
