All this talk of on-line racing makes me wonder if there is any way to
race via ICR2 on-line.  I know several years ago there was a
TCP/IP<-->Novell programme so one could play Doom over the 'net.

I just checked at www.kali.net and they don't list it as a supported
game, but maybe nobody has tried before. (hope springs eternal, you
know...)

Kali has that particular hack to translate IPX to TCP/IP.

Yeah, hopefully the full 750h.p with wheel spin off the turns will be just a
few things  too difficult for them to handle.  I agree in that calling the N3
racing world "childish" is far too kind.

Yep, a few times. Also with people who surely
don't cheat, Allan Scott for example.

It's not the typical warp lap, it will be the same
every lap. I was once behind a Cooper on Monza
in a race who did 1.23 each lap. It's very weird, because
on certain areas of the track they skip a part, like 300-400
feet. I don't really know if it's the connection, or the timing
between the client and the server, or both.

Now the bright side....I'm sure I suffer from this aswell, but
then the other way around....I'm so talented, I must be faster
then it seems now..... <g>

<Snippo>

I asked a few, and they all say it felt weird. But they could
not explain exactly how it was...problem is, you don't
see your laptimes in a race, so you don't know it
until the race is over.

ICR2 does not support TCP out of the box.  So some tool like GP2link would
be needed to convert serial port outputs to IPX or TCP/IP then you can use
Kali.  Umm, I wonder if GP2link (www.grandprix2.com) will work with ICR2
as is?!   You can try it.

Jason.

That's one option I wish we had.. The ability to custom tailor our pit
boards.
Position | Place
Driver immediately ahead
Driver immediately behind
Lap time (or a +,- from your last lap time)

There are a whole lot of different combinations I'd like to use.

Exactly...that's what worries me.  I'd hate to think that I was screwing up
someone else's races.  But, I've never seen any fast lap times at the end, so
at least it's not warping THAT way...

Never argue with an idiot.  He brings you down to his level, then beats you
