Intro to SHRA
http://www.racesimcentral.net/
The Simulated Hot Rod Association is the first online drag racing
sanctioning body. Since the SHRA was started, it has evolved
from a small user league to becoming a world wide sanctioning body
that supports many different races, and leagues. What
seperates the SHRA from the everyday user league? You can get paid
to play an online game! The SHRA will be giving away
thousands of dollars in cash and prizes though-out each season. Our
goal is to have the Pro category season champion's
collecting $5,000 - $10,000 in cash, and all for playing an online
drag racing game.
We have attempted to keep the SHRA as simple as possible so the
every-day driver does not have to spend many hours each
week trying to keep up with the happenings of SHRA. There are 4
basic categories of racing included in the SHRA schedule:
First is the Open Bracket racing class. This class will house the
majority of SHRA members and allows the "hobby" racer an
opprotunity for some great competition without a great deal of time
invested. An Open Bracket driver can race any one of 4 days
through-out the week to attempt to advance to the final round held
on Sunday.
ET Bracket racing will consist of a smaller groupe and will have a
much higher competition level. Super Gas and Super Comp
classes are included in this category. As you advance from one
class to another, the level of competition will increase as well,
which requires more time invested to win a race. An ET Bracket
class driver can race any one of 4 days to attempt to advance to
the final round held on Sunday as well.
The Semi Pro category includes the first "Heads-Up" style racing.
Super Modified, *** Funny Car and *** Dragster
classes are included in this category. There will be a very limited
group of drivers qualified to be in this category. It will require a
great deal of time and effort to stay competitive in these classes.
These classes will only race on Sundays.
The Pro category includes Pro Stock, Top Fuel Funny Car, and Top
Fuel Dragster. This category will be the most difficult and
home to the fastest online drag racers in the world. Just as in
Semi-Pro, only a very small group of people will qualify to be in this
category and it does require a great deal of time and effort to
stay in these classes of driving. These classes will only race on
Sundays.
Any driver can race in either of the first two categories and can
switch between classes. The Semi-Pro and Pro categories require
each driver to qualify into each class. A driver will have to have
a perfect car running perfect passes to qualify into these classes.
The Open and ET Bracket events race on a divisional level, meaning
that a driver from one division will only race against drivers
from that same division. Semi-Pro and Pro categories race on a
national level, meaning that drivers in these classes will be
competing with the top drivers around the world.
Description to SHRA events
Each SHRA event is held over a one week period consisting of over
50 seperate races. There are two different types of races, the
preliminary races and the nationals. Semi-Pro and Pro classes race
national races only while Open - ET bracket drivers will have
to race thru the preliminaries to advance to the nationals.
The preliminary races are held Wednesday - Saturday and only
utilized in the Open and ET Bracket categories. A driver will be
able to race on any one of these days and the top drivers from each
preliminary race will advance to the nationals.
The nationals, otherwise known as finals, are held on Sunday for
each class and will only have 16 drivers from each division
competing for the event win.
When attending a preliminary race, an Admin will randomly assign 2
- 4 person races until every driver has either won or lost. The
losing drivers will have to wait until next week to try again,
while the winning drivers will advance to the next round to compete
against the other winners. Rounds will continue and drivers will be
eliminated until only the advancing drivers are left, usually only
4 driver each day will advance to the finals.
The National races are held as one large 16 person race, or if
needed, will be broken down into two, 8 person races with the
winners of each racing against eachother in a seperate race to
determine the event winner.
