Oh please! Give us a break, Dale, Jeff or any of them are out for one
thing!
To win! If any of you were a team owner, you would want the best driver
you
could get! Millions of dollars are invested, and the best drivers are
searched out. Those that are not any good move to new teams, or retire,
or try to set out on their own. This sport is about money, and the fame
at the checkerd flag. Dale may be the "Best" but he is on a bad recovery
trail.
the Daytona wreck could have jard some memory of the 1996 season. Their
are
many drivers like Mark Martin, Ernie Irvan, Terry Labonte, Dale Jarrett
and
if you truly are a NASCAR fan, any one remember the name Allison?
(Way before "The Best" Dale Earnhardt, or Jeff Gordon)

<Snip>

This is what makes a champion a champion. The risk is to wreck. Elliot
knew
he couldent hold back Gordon, but he had to prove his point! So now who
is
the wreckless? Gordon for makeing a move? Or Elliot diving way below the
line!
Risking to hold back a more agressive driver..

But still...!   That proved to me he was driving

<Snip>

Well, thats why YOU drive sims, and he drives cars for a living.
NOTE: If you are refering to the Daytona 1997 incident, Gordon never
touched
Earnhardt, (HE even admitted this on an interview) This happend when
Irvan,
"Tagged" Dale after he got away from the wall. (Cameras show Dale
clearly
behind Gordon) and Jarrett "Tagged" Irvan to push Irvan "Under if you
will"
Dales (Now inverted) car and Jarrett was even "Tagged" by Terry Labonte.
A chain reaction incident.

Gee kinda like Richard Petty? "Lead, Follow, or get out of the way"
Hummm I wonder.

Dale was "recalibrated" in the wreck of 1996, if Jeff continues his
agression
to these levels, he to will suffer the consiquences. But he is YOUNG,
with alot
of fire. But so have all the other Nascar drivers who have been
ledgends.

 Uh ok.

He just doesnt deserve to be put in
 > the same class as an Earnahrdt or Petty. Perhaps one day he will.

Gee thanks for that note, Are you refering "Class" to the old people
class?
" Dale finnaly gets some competition and "they
don't like it"

Well;- " Thats Racing"

Steel
"May the best man win"

Which Daytona were you watching?  #24 and #3 drift high, #3 hits the wall,
bounces off the wall into the side of #24.  #3 slows to try to keep from
spinning out, and #88 wacks him in the left rear corner, causing him to
spin then roll, and then #28 drove under him, losing his hood in the
process.  No matter of who you think is at fault, at least you could " who
hit who " right.

I haven't been on this Newsgroup for awhile, but my opinion on this
issue is simply this:  Gordon, the golden boy or whatever his name is,
didn't give Earnhardt enough room to avoid hitting the wall.  Earnhardt
could have easily took Gordon out in the incident.  Even after the race
he mentioned this, but he didn't.  When you know you gonna make somebody
loose, you should give him room.  This isn't Rockingham or Atlanta.
Jeff should of stayed low coming out of the corner.  There is no way he
could have shot passed him like he thought he could.  Gordon was at
fault and didn't admit it after the race.  2 inches on both sides is not
enough room coming out of the corner.
