Philistine!!!

Bathurst is still one the best and most exciting circuits in the world and
it's based at Mt Panorama in Australia. If we won't have it for GPL then
it'll be a must for WSC.

Sounds like a good idea.  lets wait for WSC for bathurst and use the
time between now and then to create the Glen with the Boot! ;-)

Hi,

Dave is pretty well spot on here.
If you want more info on Mt Panorama (Bathurst) have a look on this
site: http://www.v8supercars.com.au
There is plenty of info on Bathurst there, along with detailed track
information and links to the official site.
I have yet to see a track in the world that is the equal of Bathurst
and it would make a brilliant addition to GPL.

Cheers,
Ron

We used to get the "Great Race" here in the UK, I used to look forward
to it every year, but it hasn't been on for a few years now. I might
have to import a video. Is it still a big event in Oz motorsport?

Great article in this month's (Feb) Motorsport magazine about Bathurst
through the years, some nice period pictures combined with up-to-date
shots of the same corners.

It would be a great GPL circuit!

Not bad for a Yank who got exposed to Bathurst ONLY because the
North American Touring Car Championship folded.
(a) NATCC announces end of series
(b) I head to the NATCC site to sign a petition to try and revive the
     series
(c) While there, I see a notice about a Touring car patch for Nascar2.
(d) get the patch...TPTCC ...join the league, learn about touring cars
(e) Speedvison begins showing BTCC & ATCC events.  During the offseason they
show this BIG race with combined works teams from both series.
(f)  Dave is now hooked and a confirmed Super Touring Fan
(g) Super Touring collapses world wide under the huge costs associated with
     developing and racing the cars
(h) Austrailia becomes a haven for 'left over' Super Touring cars.  Bathurst
continues but as a V8 race only.
(i) SCGT private track builders release the Bathurst track.
(j) Iwwccars promises lots of super tourers to race with the SCGT Bathurst,
but only a few materialize.
(l) STCC2 gets 'most' of the feel of Super Touring right, and they have the
only comercial release of a former NATCC Dodge Stratus Super Tourer left
racing.(one in Sweeden, one in South America, one in Eastern Europe)
(m) TPTCC2000 continues the tradition of patching the Papyrus Nascar
products..currently N3 is the base as well as NL being used for a 70's Trans
Am patch.
(n) All would be well in the sim world now...except that during all
this...during all this time...from way back in the mid 90's...Nobody, not
NOBODY has produced a new CART Racing product.(deliberately ignoring CPR)
