Braking in Need For Speed...

by Isaac Wo » Sat, 21 Oct 1995 04:00:00

I've just installed Need For Speed last night, and loved the game very much.
I took the Supra and spinned it around a race track, and noticed a few things/
questions:

- I can't seem to slow down very much by using the regular brakes. Does the
ABS setting affect the braking distance?

- What's the handbrake for besides leaving tire marks on the road? I have used
handbrake to slow down in the conners, but usually it gives *** results
  (i.e. losing the back end)

- What's the horn for? Will I get shot if I honk the horn at the cop?

- Is there a damage setting? Are the cars always indestructible?

Thanks for any help.

I think ABS makes you break in a straighter line and it keeps you from
locking the breaks, so you aren't as likely to skid. My brakes work,
but
when you're going really fast, it may not seem to be working right
away.
I use the Thrustmaster pedals.

Never used it once.

I may try that. I don't think it's of any real use.

Yes, always indestructable.
