Midnight Club 2 = Midtown Madness?

Is Midnight Club just kind of like a Midtown Madness game or what?  I'm
confused as to what elements of fun this game tries to create.

I'd love to have Midtown Madness 3 on PC but thats not going to happen I
guess.

Think of MM3 as the Beatles to MC2's Rolling Stones.

Since half the Beatles are tits-up, that doesn't bode well for MM3.
I'm curious to hear info about the PC version of Midnight Club.
I like these kind of games as well as sims, and rented the XBox
version to check it out. Typical fast-action smash 'em up.
If it works ok with the Momo, I'll snag it. So many of these games are
set up for twitchy digital input, making the console versions more
fun.

The PC version does not work well with a wheel. Its twitchy like you said.
But the amazing thing is is that its even WORSE with a keyboard, cause it
just goes to full lock instantly. With a wheel is a huge deadzone and weird
linearity.

Well it *is* by the same people who made Midtown Madness 1 & 2  (Rockstar San
Diego = Angel Studios).

I read it's the same publisher, but not made by the same people at
all.

Midtown Madness 3 is an Xbox-only game and is published by Microsoft,
who also published the original Midtown Madness, Motocross Madness,
and Midtown Madness 2 on the PC.

Midnight Club 2 is published by Rockstar Games and has nothing
whatsoever to do with Midtown Madness 3.

The developers of Midtown Madness 2 were, as best as I can tell, the
same team that made Midnight Club 2, however.

I believe the MC series is developed by the people who did the
original Midtown Madness, though I'm not 100% sure of that.

Having said that I'm pretty sure that MM3 (which was just released on
XBox) is coming to PC.

Tha's actually for GTA, which was the same publisher as MC2, but had different
developers (although various magazines/web sites would lead you otherwise).

Does the Xbox ver of MC2 support a wheel & pedals?  The PS2 ver didn't seem
to.

Jason, Jason, Jason - it's only the developer that gives a game character,
not the publisher.

While PC-to-console ports are rare, console-to-PC ports are common...and
almost universally awful.

Not sure Steve. I didn't get the original case with the rental, and I
only have the standard controllers for XBox (well, I have a light gun
too, the whole reason I bought the XBox was for House Of The Dead 3).
Since my "racing sim" collection for the XBox is comprised of Sega GT
and Simpsons Road Rage, it might be a bit before I buy a steering
wheel.

I know it. I'm in the midst of one right now, and am determined to
make it right. For one thing, I will have our crack driving sim expert
(yes, he is VERY good at GPL!) do the FF driving wheel tuning. ;-)
