crapy. Im using Glide 2.53 on my woodoo2 12mb card. Other games looks ok,
Nfs3, Gpl.
Also, during qualifying the framerate drops some, but under practice/race
its ok. WHY??

Anyhow, get the 1.551 patch to help with the problem:

FWIW, I have a P2-450, 128MB ram and a 12MB V2 3dfx
card.

Greg's specs are:
and mine are:
PII 300 (Dell Dimension XPS D300)
128MB RAM
Diamond MX300 soundcard with Diamond drivers "release 1.02"
reference drivers rkv2dx6.exe for Glide 2.56
Matrox Millennium II AGP videocard with latest drivers
(ver. w9x_433.exe, dated 03/15/99)
PDPI L4 digital gamecard w/ lastest drivers
(ver. 1.41, dated 10/13/98)
TSW wheel/pedals on dual brake/throttle axis
Win95 OSR2 with DirectX 6 (dx6eng.exe)
I see this qualifying slowdown even if I turn down the three graphics
options to "medium" and turn off the other graphic buttons (mip
mapping, etc.), and also see it at 800x600 and 1024x768. I turned off
the rearview mirror completely, but that didn't seem to make a
difference with this framerate slowdown.
I wonder if this is a Glide 2.5x problem? Greg, what drivers are you
using?
TIA.

Nope no slowdowns at all. And I never tried qualifying pre patch. But
now the performance is cool. You problem could be (I hate to say it)
overclocking. Have you tried without overclocking? There have been
other programs which experience performance problems if you
OC.
Huh... So you are saying that without FF it is fine? I had heard that
FF could load the CPU but I never see it in any of my games. Maybe
it is because of the 450??? Or maybe Randy Cassidy is right and
the MS wheel eats allot of CPU cycles which the Logitech wheel
doesn't??? I am using USB btw... You might want to try a Logitech
wheel from a local Best Buy (you have 30 days to return it) and
see if it makes a difference.

I'm running SCGT on a P2 333 o/clocked to 375, 128 MB RAM, 12MB Creative
Labs V2, and a MS FF wheel. I believe you use a FF wheel and was wondering
if you experienced any slow down before the 1.551 patch?
I run medium details at 640 x 480 and suffer severe slowdown with the FF
switched on ( In all sessions not just qualifying ). I also run the adv
options editor on true simulation which adversely affects framerate too.
If I try to run any of the tracks at night with FF on then it's like a
Slideshow :(

I'm playing SCGT on a 128 meg K6/2-300, Voodoo2/TnT and the 1.551
patch. I have played it on the Voodoo, but now I run it in D3D on the
TnT. The speed is the same, and I like the image quality better.
I don't have a MS wheel, I have a Formula Force.
Switching FF on/off makes no framerate difference, nor does the
advanced options editor.
My system is able to run medium details (actually, I have car's on
high) with no problem (I run with an 8 car field).
My PC is definitely lower performance than yours.
I'm not real familiar with the MS wheel, but you didn't mention your
soundcard. Is it ISA or PCI?
Is it possible you either have a wheel or soundcard driver problem?
