Random failures in N2

I was just wondering what types of mechanical failures people are
getting while running with this option on in Nascar 2? I have played the
game extensively since it came out and I think I have had only one
engine failure (might have downshifted and just blown the thing but I am
not sure). I know in ICR2 there were several different failures the
player could have but as I said above I have yet to see this in N2.

I've only had one failure at Michigan and it was in the first week it
came out.  Bad luck too because I was in the lead on the last lap going
down the backstrech and the engine just died.  I like this level of
reality.

I was leading a 50 lap race a Talladega and on lap 49 coming through
turn 3 the engine let go.My crew chief just said something broke in
the motor, not sure if there are other types of breakdowns.

I have lost several motors at Talladega - right near the start of the race.

All I've had so far was a couple of big "CHUNK" noises, engine silent
and the spotter saying "looks like we turned somethin loose in the
motor".

I was kinda hoping for some more "imaginitive" problems like tires
going down slowly or losing a cylinder, but alas....

PS anyone notice how having damaged tin will slow one down pretty
significantly at _Martinsville_???  What up wi-dat?

PPS anyone notice the AI at Martinsville borders on psychotic so it's
damn near impossible to run a race of any distance without damaging
some tin?  I'm gonna run my IGN WH race there in a tank.

I had a failure just a couple of nights ago at Taladega and the race
hadn't even started yet. We were on the pace lap going into turn 3 and
the engine just died. A couple of seconds later, the spotter said,
"Looks like something let go in the engine."

I have had only two.  Twice they occured at Dover.  I was leading or
anything, but I was moving up.  I have a nice car and I love the Monster
Mile.  Funny that both occured about 30 laps into the race.

Like the others, I've only encountered engine failures.  Hey Papy...
would be nice to have a tire start going down and 'wobble' our way back
to the pits!  Or maybe, just lose a cylinder and run on seven until the
engine quits, etc.  Just suggesting.

Yes!  And it unbelievabley slows one down.  Almost a full 2 seconds a
lap with a slightly crush front and rear.  I'm sure that if I had gone
into the pits and asked the crew to fix it, I wouldn't have lost any
sheet metal after they were done.

I can't remember who it was, but every lap he would make that Pre-Pit
side step before turn 3.  I was afraid to get even close to him.  He
never pitted.  However, I've found that one just has to be patient at
Martinsville.  REAL patient!
