The REAL problem with SCGT?

I don't know why I didn't notice this before, but the problem with SCGT
and 1024x768 video mode is a known issue, at least as far as Logitech is
concerned.  Here is an excerpt from the Wingman Game FAQ at
www.wingmanteam.com:

There appears to be an memory conflict issue with Sports Car GT when it
attempts to load force feedback effects and is set to a high video
resolution (1024x786). This issue is not specific to WingMan game
controllers, and will probably happen with any force feedback
controller. To get the game to load, either disable force feedback, or
lower the video resolution setting.

So, Morton and the rest of you who had this problem, are you also using
a force feedback controller?  Odd that Logitech would bundle a game with
their FF wheel that is known to have a problem with FF.

I am!  Microsoft Force Feedback Wheel.

I e***dly went to SCGT, Quick Race, Sebring at 1024x768 and
unchecked the Enable Force Feedback box.

It crashed with the usual FLGA00.BMP error.

I fear this disproves the Logitech theory. Sigh. :(

Oh well.  I actually like our home-brewed fix better anyway, since it
allows us to keep FF on.  Which reminds me, I should be sending you some
files.  I left a message in an older thread a few days ago, which you
might have missed.  I was hoping we could get coordinated on who
modifies which files, so that we aren't all changing the same ones.  So
far I have only changed the obvious ones, i.e. the dry, daylight tracks.
I imagine you already have all of those.  We should figure out who is
going to contribute and which tracks each of them should take on.  Let
me know what you think.
