Nope, graphics improve. As a programmer, I know that computers are a disease
that continues to spread as long as the hardware improves and as long as
NASCAR keeps chugging along, so will NASCAR games. Papy would be losing
money if they waited more than 2 years after Nascar4 to release Nascar5 ...

When the graphics are as good as watching the race on T.V. and when you hit
the wall you get slapped in the head with a 2x4 that comes out of the
computer then that'll be the last version - atleast for me anyway <g>.

Nascar 4 End.........

by Racer8 » Sat, 13 May 2000 04:00:00

Well for me I have a pretty good feeling that there is one thing they aren't
going to perfect that has bugged me since day one.
Why the heck release the dang thing at a time when the season is nearly
over.
I wish they would keep up with the current season by either:
A. Releasing it at a time of year that things in the upcoming season are
firm enough to insure as much accuracy as possible.
B. Provide FREE downloadable fully supported updates for a new season
sometime around or shortly after a new season starts.

All through the history of this series there have been some very obvious
changes that were known to be coming well in advance enough to prepare for
yet it takes a whole new product release to get things up to date after said
season is almost over and your then your behind all over again.

Nothing illustrates this better than all the pit lane reconfigurations that
have happened in recent years. By the time we get a current Darlington
configuration all of this years races will be long over with.
Time to get out of the retro rut and implement a means to keep things up to
the current season Papy. :)

Well, I just HOPE it is... ;^) They'd have time for a CART sim then!

Be bugged no more -the answer is Christmas and Chaunaka <sp>.
Software sales go up by an order of magnitude at that time of year,
and if you can get a hot new release out right when people are
starting their shopping, you have an awesome sales opportunity.

The only problem is that for the last couple of years, EVERY software
company is shooting for the same release date, and we go from a lack
of new releases to a market that is flooded with more new products
than it can bear.

Not only would Papyrus die and Sierra lose money, but the editors who do so
much for us would learn too much; In my opinion editors just learn about a
sim and then it changes a little, bringing out new versions is a good way of
stopping editors learning the capability to edit anything and everything, if
editors learnt that then Sierra/Papy well know, they could never get any
money again, we wouldn't need them. :-)

Be nice to think that there'll be something soon that will appeal to the
Europeans, but there probably won't be.

Mike.
