Nascar Heat frame rates

I just replaced the Voodoo2 card I had with a Voodoo3. I installed the
1.07 driver and ran the game. The colors were considerably better and
everything seemed fine. But when I checked the frame rate it was still
the same as before 13.0!
I've tried different postions on the slider bars and different
resolutions, but I can't get over 13 on my frame rate. The card I
installed is a 16meg 3Dfx model. Is there something I need to change in
order to improve the frame rate??
thanks, Foghat

Abandon the 3dfx I would think.  I owned two of them, I think for their
time they were great cards, but they do NOT have the strength to run newer
sims.  You replaced an outdated card with an outdated card.
The latest edition of PC Gamer had a page about video cards and flight sims
and couldn't find a sim that didn't work with NON 3dfx cards...you may have
to find a glide wrapper but all the titles he mentioned were originally
3dfx titles that now work with d3d or opengl or some 3dfx hack like a glide
wrapper.
Your cpu is also heavily involved in producing good framerates.  What
cpu and what speed?  How much ram?  And what motherboard?  The more info
you can provide the better our advice.
