Has anyone had the experience of suddenly no sound in NR1999 when running in
a dos box. My machine did this a few days ago, and we can not come up with
what is wrong. The soundset.exe refuses to run, says something about needing
board memory at 00040000 (or some such)  and not being able to load vga
graphics. We even tried a fresh install and got the same thing.

That's an odd one.There is a utility at http://www.shadows.com/nascar/
that will generate the same sound.cfg file for n2/99 that the setup
and soundset exes generate. That might help you to get your sound
back.
