There is a file in the main NASCAR directory called calendar. This file
is composed of the tracks and dates used for the championship season.
The names of the tracks are the directory names for that track.
Here is a sample line from the file:
8 26 1 1 BRISTOL
The first 2 numbers are the month and day the even is run. The 3rd
number is 0 for the first event at this track and 1 for the second race
at this track. The fourth number indicates day or night race (0=day,
1=night). This last number only works for C***te and Bristol.
The number for the occasion of the event will look in the track.txt file
for that track and determine the number of laps for the event. This is
the LAPS line in the track.txt file. Where the first number is the
number of laps for the first event and the 2nd number is the number of
laps for the second event.

Richmond also offers night racing.
