Nascar 4 Network Problem Connection behind ICS

by Andy Stra » Wed, 21 Nov 2001 03:24:09

Being new to Nascar 4 I wonder if someone out there would be kind enough
to help me.... (I only raced GPL online up to now)

I have Nascar installed on a seperate machine to the one with the actual
network connection (that helps in GPL). I use M$ 'Internet Connection
Sharing' which works fine for other games but as soon as I try to 'race
on sierra.com' I can't connect. I get ...

Could Not Get Message Of the Day.
        WS GetMOTD SysNotFound

I tried configuring to turn off look for modem and 'look for addresses
in another way' but no joy there.

Anyone out there got it to work... is there ini file changes or
something I'm missing or have they added another layer of complexity
since GPL to spoil my fun?

Cheers for any help or pointing in direction of N4 mailing lists or forums.

Cheers,

Andy

Should probably mention my gateway machine is running Windows 2000 pro
(with Zone Alarm) and is connected to a 512/128 kbps Cable Modem (via
NTL). The client machine runs W98SE.

After finally patching my US version correctly it seems OK but "Someone
using my CD key is aready logged in" ... is this because I installed it
on my gateway machine to see if it worked there... (it did).

Am I scuppered now????
