When I get some smoke on the track or dirt kicked up, it just stays
there through each sucessive lap; never to clear away.  Has anyone
else noticed this?

I definitely don't run across this bug. And I have quite a bit of experience
kicking up dirt at Michigan.

Me too: I'm running through some little cloud of smoke/dirt every lap in
Michigan.
Somebody knows how to fix it?

Only time I have noticed this is during modem play.  It is really weird
seeing the same smoke linger there lap after lap.  And both machines were
seeing the same thing.
