I'm gonna ask a favor please.  Saturday December 1st. Speedvision has 3
Euro/Aussie Touring car programs scheduled.  BTCC at 12 noon eastern, then
Aussie V8's at 8pm eastern then DTM coverage at 9pm est.(USA east coast time
zone)
I'm told many even simple cable settop boxes have two-way feedback
concerning channel selection.  To help the cause of continued road racing
series...please tune in this Saturday for these events.  If there is a spike
in the ratings for this type of racing, perhaps we will be able to hold the
Nascar Monster back for another year or two...thanks....
Ya don't even have to watch...just get that set-top tuned to whatever
channel Speedvision is on your cable system.  Thanks...
I'm NOT a cable employee, I'm not affilitated with
Speedvision/Speedchannel.   I'm just a fan of racing who see's the chance
for MORE coverage and I'm greedy...Any help will be appreciated.
(I've got one more favor in about two weeks...save your cash ;>  )

Will try to do Dave. Gotta find the sticky post it notes first. :-)

Yeah right, it's from the same company that monitors the computer chip in
your $20 bills via satellite.

I agree Dave, it is likely too late, and I have a sattelite dish (no two
way, downstream only) but I will likely watch most of it... :)

Sorry I can't contribute more to the cause, and I like the idea of more
NASCAR programming, but not at the expense of losing other programming.
Terrible catch-22 for me.

Sounds like a good idea, but stopping the NASCAR juggernaut is futile at
best. International touring car coverage has been just about non-existent
this year. I always liked seeing the British and Aussie series'. Too bad...

"Also included in the exclusive [NASCAR] block are classic
and historical races, original news and lifestyle programs..."

What's the matter?  Wouldn't we all rather watch Jeff Gordon
Bar-B-Q-ing hot dogs than the American Le Mans series?

I poked around the site, Steve Matchett has a story titled
"Turn Out the Lights?" about the production of the last Formula
One related show of the year.  He says "Speedvision's new
management is extremely keen to continue their Grand Prix
programming and the company remains in negotiations to retain
the rights to Formula 1", but it's hard not to read a double
meaning in the column's title.

Damn, this means I have to take the aluminium foil hat off my cable box.
The aliens will be able to figure out what I am watching. Hell, they
might abduct it. I dunno about that, dude...

I'm not saying that I agree that cable boxes are sending viewing info
back home because I really don't know. I do know this however -- I can
hear the modem in my Dish Network receiver click on and off every
couple of hours. If I had a phone line attached to it, I am sure it
would be sending SOMETHING to somebody. They tell you that the phone
line is just for ordering PPV movies but then they say that you need
to leave it connected all the time (yeah, right.) At first I thought
it might be for software upgrades on the box, but it does that through
the satellite by simply turning your receiver off overnight.

I dunno what they are trying to get outta my box, but they ain't
gettin it!!! ;-)

The two way in cable boxes is used for polling pay-per-view purchases.
I won't say I'm a cable employee because everyone hates them.

Well Dave, if it was the Aussie V8 round at Sandown this w/e they were
playing, you're in for a hell of a set of races. :) The rain came down
on Sunday and the action was ***y impressive :D
