Im watching it right now as a matter of fact and it might be replayed at other
times during the week.  Its only a 2 hour summary show but there are some great
shots of the track as well as alot of incar from the race winning Chrysler
Viper GTS-R (led almost the whole race).  I reccomend trying to watch this for
some great shots of the old circuit (plus the modern one....but thats only
about 2 of the 15.8 miles)

Now you just ruined it! What about writing spoiler?
Just kidding :-) watched it over a month ago on dsf, they had
livecoverage every few hours, and quite interesting it was to see the
old track :-)

That's about 4 laps right.

144 (if that is the correct number - would be 10 min laps in average,
which sounds about right) for some guys in a Viper, and a whole lot
less for everybody else. I believe the second car was ten laps down,
and I wouldn't be surprised if the last car to finish had about half
as many laps completed. :)

The best Porsche (no turbocharger allowed) was only 3 laps down,
despite being hopelessly slower in Qualifying (Viper 8:45 min for the
25.3km, all other 24h-competitors 9:29 or slower).
The Viper lost AFAIK about 3 laps with engine repair, though.

Even a  Mini Cooper, a Fiat Seicento or the Citroen Diesel Taxi did
over 85 laps.

So they did Nordschleife and GP track combined? 20,8km + 4,5mk = 25,3km
That would be cool to run!! :)

BTW, I just got back from the Ring where I did 5 laps with my motorcycle.
See my site for a report Wednesday evening ...

The Porsche must have been on the limit all the time, then. Quite
impressive.

The Citroen cab made it to the end? :) I loved to see those guys
wrestle this most-unfit-for-racing-ever hulk of a car around the
corners.

Thanks for the URLs!
