(600 MHz X 2) + F1C, No Problem.

Hi Folks:

I decided to get the sim, and stuck it on
my system running WIN 2K.  I have two 600 MHz
P3s in the PC.  When I compared F1 2002 on
Win 98 and Win 2000 I didn't notice a boost
from the second processor, so why not use
both?

I started a race at the recommended turned
down graphics settings, it was fine.  So I
decided to see what would happen with maxed
graphics.  Shadows, image quality, any
setting that would make a difference while
driving.

I saw FPS reports of 19 to low 20s, but it
looked smooth.  I might be missing something
with the low frame rates.  I drove Spa for
awhile, It was fine.  But as others have
reported, the car is twitchier than F1 2002,
which was believed to have an unrealistically
high downforce.

I then dipped my toe in the water and
tried some multiplayer.  I got into a pit
with 2 or 3 drivers doing practice laps who
were not driving much better than I was.
My old dog PC handled that with no apparent
problem.

I'm driving under my own name, so you
will know me if you see me.  I want to drive
multi-player without getting on anybody's shit
list.  But if I have to practice, I think
I'll do it online, so I can have some
company.

Anyway, I'm having fun, and that's the
point isn't it?  I'll try to steer clear of
serious drivers in serious races until I
build some skills.
