Welcome to the Grand Prix Legends FAQ. This text is intended to provide
answers to the most commonly-asked questions I receive from readers. The FAQ
should be your starting point to find out details about the game, or the
GP-Legends website at http://www.racesimcentral.net/;or
http://www.racesimcentral.net/.
It will be added to as more information becomes available.
1. When is the game due to be released?
The latest information from Papyrus mentions August of 1998 for the United
States of America and September for the rest of the world, but as we all
know release dates tend to be unreliable...
2. What tracks will be in the game?
The following tracks are confirmed to be in the game:
Kyalami
Mexico City
Monza
Mosport
Nurburgring-Nordschleiffe
Rouen
Spa-Francorchamps
Watkins Glen
Zandvoort
Monaco
Silverstone
Papyrus have stated that licensing negotiations are still ongoing for
certain tracks and drivers, so watch this space!
3. What drivers will be featured?
It is confirmed that the following drivers have been licensed for the game
Jim Clark
Graham Hill
Jack Brabham
Dan Gurney

Bruce McLaren
Lorenzo Bandini
John Surtees

Pedro Rodriguez
Jo Siffert
Mike Parkes
Joakim Bonnier
Richie Ginther
Chris Irwin
Jean-Pierre Beltoise
Note that this isn't the full official driver list, and more names could be
added or retracted in the final version.
Here is a list of different AI settings people will be able to adjust :
Aggression
Alertness
Experience
Hype
Qualifying
Quickness
Smoothness
The driver abilities would seem to be relative rather than absolute.
4. What are the car manifacturers ?
Here is a list of the car manifacturers officially added in GPL.
Murusama Motors
Brabham Racing Organisation
British Racing Motor
Coventry Car Company
All-American Racers
Team Lotus
5. What will the minimum hardware requirements be?
The latest information from Papyrus suggests that minimum requirements will
be a Pentium 133. 3dfx and0 Rendition will be supported, but not required.
There will not be a simultaneous release for Macintosh. No word on RAM
requirements, but I would guess 32mb
as a minimum.
The demo requires 32mb or RAM, and in order to be playable a 3dfx or
Rendition compatible 3d accelerator is recommended
6. Will the Lotus have a wheel non-centered to the central axe of the car ?
Yes Bruce.
