I have GPL, but in the last week or so I've found myself
***ed to playing Gene-Rally. (others can note how I
carefully put the hyphen in)
I agree with just about everything you say. F12002 is far superior to GPL.
The GPL tire model was way off from day one and made the car's grip almost
arcade like in it's innacuracy, yet two years of constant denial of this
fact by a certain crowd passed before they finally admitted that huge flaw
existed.
N2002 has better replay and multiplay than F12002, but that's about it.
F12002 must be a lot more work to develope as well, since they have to model
11 different cars, more complex tracks, and weather. They have come far with
it in a short time.

Having said that, I'm not about to delete GPL off my hard disk. It is still
my #1 source of multiplayer thrills.

I still feel more feedback (visually) from GPL than I do in any other title
including F1-2002. I just can't get halfway through the Nurburgring without
sliding off in a turn. I wish wish wish Papy would take all the bells and
whistles fron NR2002 and do another open wheel sim - one with more downforce!!!
How many names are on that GPL2 petition? Has anyone e-mailed David Kaemmer or
Randy Cassidy a link to that page?
