I am looking to upgrade my video card.  I only use GPL, and poorly at that!
Which will function better an ATI 8500 or the nVIDIA GF3 Ti 500?

Wait till Feb, Geforce 4 is coming out then get a cheap GF3.

If you *only* use GPL, then either is more than you need unless you use
insanely high resolutions. I have a GF2MX400, and even that's capable of
running with everything turned on.
