Thank you everyone for your quick help

All fixed I simply did the following:
(1) downloaded from http://www.racesimcentral.net/;the Creative Labs EXE
file into a temp directory.
(2) Double-clicked the EXE file, when extracted gave me GLIDE2X.DLL version
2.50 and then
(3) I copied this file to the GPL directory and it all works great.
