time yesterday, while we we watching the Imola race from the TV.
But the real race was 62 laps, and our race was 78. I know why. I had
installed Matti's Track Pack 98, and I had patched some values of the track
with some utility editor (Forgot the name of the editor, and can't find it
anymore in my disk). But I had not changed the numbers of laps in the races,
because I don't remember seeing any such possibility in the track data
editor I used. How I got so confused, I don't remember.
Anyway, today I could and I did change the numbers of laps for each of the
races (documented in Matti's Track Pack 98 help file) using GP2Edit, which
I have. (Strange enough, that it edits those, because it is the only _track_
data GP2Edit can edit.)
Now my problem is, that anytime I load my personal saved season, the numbers
of laps in the races change back to the old wrong values. If I start a new
race in the same session, the number of laps is wrong, the same that was in
the save. But if I quit GP2 and restart, the number of laps is right, then
there are the new values that I put there with GP2Edit.
So my question is: in which files is the number of laps saved?
Generally and more broadly, I would like to see a list of basic files, data
structures and a rough sketch of basic algorithms that a session of GP2 goes
through, to better understand various utilities, editors, patches, settings
and their relations.
In the end I must recommend everybody, that running a multiplayer race at
the same time it is on TV is major fun! If you have already been running
multiplayer races, I wonder if you have any suggestions on how to make it
even more fun? I have GP2Lap, which shows the situation of all players on
screen, and which is essential in a multiplayer race.
