GP3 vs F1 2000

by Chris Bloo » Sun, 19 Mar 2000 04:00:00

Firstly I think I should give myself a pat on the back for the
post below from 10 Feb;)  Looks like I am going to be proved
right.

Seriously though, I would like to add a couple more gripes about
F1 2000:

1. There is too much passing by the AI.  They seem to change
leader a couple of times a lap.

2. The idiot spotter who come up with such gems as "Schumacher
is exiting the pits, looks like he's on a 3 stopper!" while on
lap 3 of a 4 lap race!  He also comes up with some equally
annoying and worthless comment when you go off road.  If he
hasn't got anything sensible to say he should shut up!

3. Braking seems far too easy and the braking distances seem too
short and even if you brake too late you seem to be able to turn
the corner, unlike GP2 (and of course GPL).

4. The AI doesn't seem to reflect real life.  Irvines
performance seems to be based on his 99 season, disregarding the
fact that he has changed teams.  What Zonta nd Diniz were doing
dicing for the lead I really don't know though?

5. The circuits don't seem very accurate.

I'd rather play GP2 until GP3 comes out of course.

Chris

Quite honestly I would prefer to play

Are you sure you don't have any assistance on? I thought that locking
the front wouldn't allow you to steer at all. Well, you can steer
allright, it's just that nothing is happening. As a matter of fact, I
thought that the game doesn't respond fast enough when you release the
brake. It seems that the wheels stay locked for about 0.5 secs.
