New BRD Pedals

New BRD Pedals

I've heard on the grapevine that the new pedals from BRD are going to be

 265.

Or 165 if you have a set of BRD pedals to trade in.

Anyone else like me thinking "Well - I was going to have them - but
frankly - 265 is just WAY too expensive - forget it"

I'm sure they're fantastic and all that - but NO set of pedals is worth that
much. I could go and by proper road car for that for gods sake.

265.. recalculate to Dutch Guilders...
938 Guilders.
Are you sure about that price? It can't be right, it's just too much.
Even half of that price would be expensive for some really good
pedals..

It was in a word document circulated to all current BRD Owners. I am not
one, but got it fwd'd to me...

"
Until the end of January 2002 we are offering a 100 rebate on the new Speed
7 pedals for any previous BRD-Sim F1, Pro or Classic owners who purchased
them in the last 6 months.  The pedals will be retailing at 265, but if you
trade in your current pedals you will be able to get them for 165."

Sick - frankly.

Just for comparison...how much in pounds were the ECCI wheel/pedal
packages?  And in pounds a Thomas Wheel with a bunch of MOMO upgrades?  Can
anyone find that out?  Thanks.

Basically.

I mean - I know they're probably the best pedals money can buy..but - I look
at the picture - add up the constituant parts - and can not see 265 there
at all.   150 maybe - but never more than 200.

I know I probably sound like a broken record by now, but I can't praise
these high enough....

http://www.wave.co.nz/~lakewood/Redline2.htm

Not to mention that Nigel's sound engineering made it possible for me to
change the spring on my accelerator pedal in less than 2 mins, 5 mins
before the qualifying for the BR1000, costs about half, including
shipping, could use a new set of pots about now I guess, but after 2
years.....

And they don't look like tractor pedals either :-)

New BRD Pedals

I purchased a BRD Sim Pro system about 2 months ago and have been really
impressed with the quality of parts and workmanship.  I can't really say it
has made me any faster in either GPL or N4 compared to my previous system,
but I'm not any slower either, and it cost about 1/4 of my other system.
(Guess what my previous system is....hint, it has tractor pedals)  ;-)

I will definitely be upgrading to the new pedals for two main reasons.
First of all it will convert the entire system to USB, and secondly the
position of the pedals is adjustable.  These units can also be inverted for
a pendulum type setup.

I will be paying approximately $233 USD, and will still be right around $600
for the total system with an extra quality pedal setup to use elsewhere.

Just for comparison purposes, here are some prices of other products.  Keep
in mind the BRD's are all steel with gear drive pedal to pot:

ECCI clutch pedal only add on  $169  (tractor pedal)
TSW 2 pedal unit $125 (plastic base)
TSW for Act Labs RS $200 (plastic base ??)
TSW for Logi FF $210 (plastic base ??)

I personally don't think they are priced out of line at all at $233, and
will probably be included as standard equipment on any new complete systems,
albeit at some increase in cost.

I just received the Redline Pedals and they are perfect. Taxed to
death as we are in Norway, they are expensive, but worth it.

Only problem is that time from order to delivery might be long.
This is handmade sim accessories made by one enthusiast for
other enthusiasts.
