Hawaii Racing - Guys! enuff already ehh?

Hey all

I've been reading and reading and reading all the posts regarding
everybody's opinions on the caliber of Racers on Hawaii. I hate
to say this but it LOOKS like when Papyrus does make this thing
(which I think is a blast) a little more affordable, that the system
is going to develop a small problem. Your going to have a bunch
of guys out to have a good time, getting all bummed out over the
Demolition Derby guys. Flaming is going to be a regular part of things
I think. Then the blacklist's are going to start. And everyones going
to break off into thier own little groups and only want to race
against  certain people. It's a shame too, Yes there are unfortunatly
those who don't wish to invest the time and effort to run lagite. But
what are ya gonna do about i? Eventually they will get bored and go
away but if a FLame war starts even if ya warn your pals not to race
with "John Doe" . John Doe will simply change his name and come back
after you and keep the antics up.  THEN we'll start seeing all the
good, clean racers start dropping off.

If the 'gangs' do form who won't race against a new guy here and there
everybody is gonna loose out. Who knows? a *** Jeff Gordon could
be out there and never be able to get in on the good action!

Hell , don't we all have enough stress in our daily lives to be acting
like this? This is supposed to be Entertainment. I think given some
time ED and his crew will all help us reach a happy medium but lets
not ruin this thing before it even gets really fired up!

And PLEASE gang! Stop bashing Papyrus if ya find bugs or quirks in
this thing. After all it *IS* in Beta. THey'll work it out just work
WITH each other instead of complaining. After all it's obvious Papyrus
is broken new ground with this type of entertainment, ***ing won't
make it better.

So if your out there Wrecking everyone intentionally cut it out, Try
learning the Sim. and come race competitivly. It's alot more fun than
seeing how many pieces these cars will break into.

Just another 0.02 worth.....

Leagues have already formed to screen out people, it makes for better
racing but at a cost. The levels don't seem to help either, it fact I
think they hurt. You have to carefully pick and choose races to avoid
losing levels. I seen good racing from 0's and bonehead moves from
high levels.
I think tiered racing would be better, ie start with reduced power,
easier tracks, forced setup and no damage. This would allow the
newcomer to develop skill and move up to more difficult leagues when
it's appropriate.
Most of the new people on the network seem to avoid the iroc forced
setup races and choose to drive faster and looser setups of their own.
It's one thing to drive a loose car against AI that is totally
predictable and another on the network.
A huge advantage of league racing is that u get to know your opponets,
the disadvantage is that it locks out a lot of good people.
5% spint races r an invitation to destruction derby racing, if your
not up front in the 1st couple of laps it's over.

...

And that's why Papyrus has deviced a rating system.
In short: Misbehaviors will race misbehaviors.
