fileBegin error with N3

I am having a problem running N3.  When I launch it, I get an Init Error
popup box that says "fileBegin Failed".

N3 previously ran fine on two different machines, and now it is failing
in the same way on both of them.  I tried installing the 1103 patch, but
that doesn't make any difference.  

Both machines have Logitech FF wheels on them.  I tried commenting out
the FF parameters I'd earlier installed in N3.ini, but that didn't help
either.

Both machines ran fine with N3 previously.  NASCAR Legends runs fine.  I
can't imagine what might have changed on both machines to make N3 stop
working.  

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have an expired beta build installed.  The latest is
1.1.0.6 and is available here:
http://www.sierra.com/sierrasports/forums/motor/nr3beta/

got that message myself, had to do with v3 drivers i tink installed latest
drivers and 1106 patch cleared it up
