Typical blanket assumption. FF is highly dependent on setup and the game.
I use a Logi DFP, and with NR2003 and F1C, I get no odd vibrations. What I
do get is weighted steering that goes light when the front tires break and
pulls a bit when going over a kerb. No, F1C over kerbs isn't great, but
it's not outrageous and can be toned down to practically nothing. Plus, I
get almost none of the weird pulling as weight shifts back and forth.
Admittedly, the effects right out the box (speaking mostly of F1C) aren't
good at all; PLR file editing is a must. Again, it's all in the setup, and
believe me, it took me awhile.
Besides, as someone else mentioned, non-FF wheels aren't any more realistic,
because they don't simulate anything whatsoever. Any "feel" they try to
create has nothing to do with whatever you're driving. In the end, it's all
about whatever helps YOU immerse yourself in the game... iow, personal
preference. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the vocal non-FF
advocates are the ones that seem to gloss over that last point most.
