A moot point, I'm afraid. Poor turnout (and poor driving on my part
to eliminate myself on the first lap), meant that the race didn't
take place.

Thanks again to Uwe to pointing out the solution to my mirror
problems. Although I usually spend time exploring options with new
programs, I had never even glanced at that "Advanced Option" in the
ETCC startup screen.

Neil, sorry that I sounded blurred in the TeamSpeak chat. Was my
voise blured, or was the mike picking  up other sounds so that it was
hard to hear my voice? I had tested my new mike in a recording applet
on my computer and the recorded sound seemed pretty good. I could
hear you reasonably well, and I could even make out the words. <g> I
don't see why others would complain about your accent.

What do you do so that TS recognizes your "I am going to speak now"
keystroke while driving? When I had the sim in the foreground, I
would press the designated key and speak, but apparently I was not
coming through. It worked -- such as it was -- only when I had TS in
the foreground.

Not the best of days. But as they say: "Some days you get the bear;
other days, the bear gets you." (You have to imagine a folksy,
western drawl.)

Sorry about making you guys restart. It was weird at the start, I saw the
countdown, then nothing happened. I could shift and turn the wheel, but I
had no gas pedal or I guess brake.
When I tried to reconnect, I got nowhere. Nothing happened, I never could
reconnect.

Many of us use the Right Control Key as the trigger for TeamSpeak.  Other
keys seem to have trouble.  YMMV.

You can then map the Right Control Key to a wheel button as I do.

Something important came up and I had to miss the race. Since everyone put
in practice time, I'll join in if you guys decide to schedule it again.

Hope things are OK now Dave. I'm happy to run it again this Sunday or we
could try Bathurst. Over to you guys.

Regards

I _could_ use more time to work on a setup for Bathurst. (I'm
bouncing badly around on several corners. Springs too soft?) And I
never did get more than about half a lap in after the green at
LeMans.

On the other hand, LM is a _little_ bit boring, n'est-ce pas? Those
long straights...

Wow! This version of Bathurst is a tremendous improvement over the
tracks they made for GPL! You really get a sense of the elevation
changes. Much tighter corners and those camber changes are something
else. I'd love to try this track in real life (in a street sedan,
chicken that I am!).

Thats my problem with ETCC.  Without a basic stable setup to get me
started  it's about impossible for me to invest the kind of time
required to be at all competitive.  WE NEED A FAST type SETUP for ANY
mod that comes out!!!  Finding any setups for ETCC is about impossible.

[snip]

What accent ?!? Brits don't have accents - only you colonial types have them
;)

You sounded a little muffled and very quiet - maybe up the mic volume. I use
scroll lock for activating TS and have it mapped to a wheel button - seems
to work fine.

This is logically inconsistent on the basis that if you got the bear, it
wouldn't exist on future days to be got again and if the bear got you
wouldn't be doing any bear hunting in the future ;)
