GPL and Optushome cable

I have a friend who is on optushome cable and he can't get gpl to run server
that I can connect too.

he has too computers the net gateway is on win 2k gpl+vroc installed and
tracks cars ect but it will not host a session that I can connect to.

he has setup for remote hosting and I have looked at it done everything I
can think of to get host going. but still can not connect to it.

he say yep its going here. I can see it on vroc he can see it on vroc but
none of us can connect.

he has try just straight host session it started game I could see it but
again I could not connect
he has connected to it but that was before we turn off Ipx connections now
its looking only for tcp/ip connections its like it not talking to vroc but
it is as it pings and progresses through list of races it does everything
but let you in.

I thinkit might have something to do with win2k but he will not put winme or
98 on the system
is there a way to set win2k to except incoming traffic without making the
system vonerable he is using ZA pro fireewall on it too! could that be the
cause?
yes we have tried it without ZA runing so I guess thats not it!!!!!

I'm lost from this end...

Does he have ICS running?

If so you need to open some ports.

I can provide the files if you need them

Cheers

Yea it could be ICS. I have Optushome cable as well and can host no problem
if i turn ICS off first.
Btw Tony, what files are they you are talking about for opening ports ? Any
chance of sending them to me or a link to them ?
Sid.

I believe that you need to open the ports that GPL needs to connect
on. He has ZA Pro, that will allow you to specifically open up those
ports. Only catch - I have no idea what ports you need to open!

ZA will need to be configured to allow GPL to act as a server as well.
I believe that simply closing ZA will not open the ports needed, they

stuff.

I have a CM.
I can run dedicated host server races by turning ICS off and joining locally
on my client computer. Unfortunately I cannot host N4 because it does not
allow local joining to an internet race and I'm not prepared to host and
race on the same computer as the processor overhead is too great.
