GP500 Wheel - Any Good ????

No the model I used, I think the general idea is to place your monitor on
the large wooden board that the wheel is connected to, thus
counterbalancing the weight of the wheel and stopping it from moving
around.

However, it would not be difficult to work out a clamping method, I have
read/heard about one guy who drilled two holes through the board, drilled
two holes through his desk in the appropriate places, and used two large
bolts with wingnuts to secure it down, No probs....

That's right. With my 15" monitor on top of the board, it is _very_
stable. There are two quick release screws to enable the steering column
to be removed so that the keyboard can be put directly in front of the
monitor. They seem to have changed the design of the board for the F1 Sim
but the principle should be the same.

Depending on personal preferences, it isn't necessarily the best of
arrangements for people who want to spend lots of time typing at their
keyboards. But it provides a more stable arrangement than any clamping
mechanism I've come across and anyway, if you are going to spend over 200
UK pounds on a wheel, racing must come pretty high up your list of
priorities <g>

Cheers,
Richard
