GP500 Demo - Dual Controller Support?

by DjFI » Fri, 13 Aug 1999 04:00:00

Hi,
I am currently having problems getting the GP500 demo to accept 2
controllers.  My setup works just fine with SBK.  The setup is the
following.

Joystick Port Y Cable (Spliter)
        Madcatz Analog True Stering System
                Gas pedel (Accel)
                Break pedel (Break)
        Actlabs Eaglemax Flight Stick
                X-Axis (stering)
Button 1 - Trigger (Gear Up)
                Fliper Down (Gear Down)
                Flipper Up (Look Back)

In GP500 I've added in button 2 for reverse.

Here's a time line of testing combos drivers\joysticks with GP500

-try normal setup (not working)
-try just flight stick w/ flippers for gas\break and buttons 1\4 for
gearing.  (works.  but I dont like flippers for gas\break)
-try just stearing wheel w/ pedels.  (steering works, but y axis not
responding)
       changed stearing combo's drivers
-try again (works.  really hard to stear with this setup.)
-try back to my normal 2 controler setup.  (stearing on flight stick not
responding, but buttons on flight stick respond.)

any clue what I can do?  please e-mail me

GP500 Demo - Dual Controller Support?

Doesn't work.  I've got a Wheel in my USB port - Joy 1 - and pedals in
my game card - Joy 2.  No go.  No Force Feedback either.

Too bad.  I had high expectations for this sim.  We'll see now if Rally
Championship can do it right.  If not, well I guess GPL will continue to
reign as the sim of sim's - at least in my opinion...

GP500 Demo - Dual Controller Support?

I'm not gonna give up on the game.  I still love it.  Thats wierd, I never
herd of anyone having to use 2 ports for a stearing wheel.  My friends T1 has
a splitter for the pedels, and my pedels go in to the side of my stearing
wheel console.  Any way.  I hope microprose fixes this before it's released.

It's a demo. Wait til the game comes out to judge it. You might be able to get more info from their website.

actualy its partaly offical.  i will now paste on a letter i got in
responce from microprose.

<repost>
We do not do technical support on demos. We also will most likely not be

supporting any type of y-splitter joystick configuration.
<end repost>

him than to make it offical.  But I am doing ok with just a flight
stick.  But I'd still pref to use my pedels for accel\break.
