Last week I saw the new Thrustmaster Formula1 (in U.S. NASCAR) Racing
Wheel by PROMARKT in Germany for 269,- DM. It looks like that it has the
same technique as the T2 wheel. The improvement is that there are two
buttons directly on the wheel for shifting, the wheel looks like an
original racing wheel (not like the T2) and  the pedals are made of
aluminium.I am going to bye this wheel but I want to know if the
technique inside is as same good as it was in T2 or even better. Has
anyone experiences with this wheel?

I've had the NASCAR/Formula1 pro wheel for about two weeks and so far
I'm very happy with it. It's a lot like the T2 but has a much more
strudy feel to it. I returned a T2 because the wheel wiggled like a
loose tooth and the pro wheel doesn't. The clamping system is great,
and the thumb buttons are in the right place for me. The pedals do
look like they are made from drilled aluminum but are plastic. I like
the pedals except they will tip forward if you don't keep one of your
feet on the base. As far as the insdie workings of the system being
similar to the T2, my guess would be that it's pretty much the same,
but I haven't opened up the pro wheel yet. The pro wheel does have a
lot more resistance than the T2 does though. Anyways for the money
it's a good wheel.

I purchased this one and returned it to the store on the following
weekend.

The wheel is much better than the T2 (They got this part right)

The pedals look good, but are hopeless to use. Their position
is totally wrong (need ***on floor to get any comfort). The
pedal pressure required to operate the pedals is way too high
giving no feel.

Get the CH Racing Wheel and CH Pedals. This system is a joy to
use. !!!

I was complaining about the Nascar Pro (Also known as the Formula 1
in Europe).

The pedals are just hopeless.

As an addendum, I just purchased the new CH Racing System which
includes a set of driving pedals too. These pedals are twice as
good as the Thrustmaster pedals, but twice as good is still
pretty bad and I cannot recommend these either.

The standalone CH Pedals are the finest set of pedals
available in the sub $300 category (I have not used anything
which is more expensive). Although they do not look like
car racing pedals, they work beautifully, offering finesse
and comfort. Nothing else comes close, believe me.

The wheel is very good but the pedals are really bad.

Well I've only looked at one at the store.  But the steering felt
entirely different than the Bungee cord spring of the T2.  There was
no bungee rebound although the wheel would return to center.  So I
suspect they use a differnt mechanism.
  any experts out there???
